Kindergarten Teacher- Water Dragons

B.Ed. (Early Childhood), B.Teach. (Primary)

I have a Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood) and a Bachelor of Teaching (Primary) and I have been teaching for 15 years and I have been at Wynnum Manly Kindergarten since mid-2019. I have experience ranging from directing, teaching and recruitment in education. I’ve also lived and worked as a Teacher in Auckland, NZ.
My overwhelming aim in teaching is to spark a love of learning in children. For them to wake up every Kindy morning and be excited to find out what the day will bring. I want each child to feel like their learning space is a home away from home, a place of joy and comfort. I love fostering children’s interests and where these take us! I’ve learnt so much alongside the little people I have taught!
At home, I have a husband and two young children (one of whom came to WMCK). We also have an angry rescue bird called Billy and two free range chickens.
In my ‘spare time’ I love sewing! You’ll often see me at Kindy in one of my bright handmade outfits.

Dip. Early Childhood Education

Hi my name is Tiffany but everyone calls me Miss Tiff and I work in both the Sand Plover and Bush Bees group. I have had the joy of working in the early education field for over 10 years in various roles. I began working at WMCK in 2019 and absolutely LOVE IT!!! I hold a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and I am currently studying a Bachelor of Education ( Early Childhood Teaching). I have a passion for play based learning and strive to create an inspiring, unique, creative and fun program that caters to every child’s uniqueness. Everyday I hope to walk through our kindy doors and sprinkle a little bit of fun, laughter and magic as we go on meaningful learning adventures together. When I’m not at kindy, you will find me at home with my turtle and 2 cats, shopping or at the beach with my 2 daughters and husband.

Lauren Brown

Educator- Kookaburras & Water Dragons

Cert III Early Childhood Education & Care

Hi, I’m the other Miss Lauren… what!? There’s two!? There sure are 😂😂

I hold a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care, and have recently begun a Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood Teaching). I work with the other Miss Lauren in the Kookaburra and Water Dragon classes and my absolute favourite part of our program is Creek Kindy! I love to advocate for Risky play and outdoor learning. Building the creek kindy program in 2021 has been such an amazing journey towards this as we have been able to see our children grow so much confidence throughout this time.
When I’m not at kindy….or studying, you’d probably find me playing hockey, reading or taking sneaky pictures of all the odd bugs that I find hiding around my garden.

Educator- Sand Plovers & Bush Bees

Adv.Dip. Community Services (Children's Services)

Hi my name is Vanessa and I joined Wynnum Manly community kindy in 2020 after working in a relief/ inclusion support capacity for a term. This wonderful kindy community has been the breath of fresh air I have been looking for after working in the Early Childhood Education field since 1993. I hold an Advanced Diploma in Community Services (Children’s Services) and have been privileged to manage three long day care centres during my career. I have always had a passion for child directed education and feel all children learn best when they are interested, engaged and feel a sense of autonomy in regards to how they choose to learn.
I have a husband and 2 boys who keep me very busy, but in my spare time I love to garden as well as watching my oldest boy’s  extreme sport pursuits and my youngest boy’s art creation.

Kindergarten Teacher- Kookaburras

Masters of Early Childhood Teaching

Research, reflection and resilience are the tools of my trade. My innovative, fun loving approach reflects my serious passion for the role of being a child’s second educator.

I believe in encouraging children to find their own answers and develop confidence in the capable and competent person they are. I love creating rich learning environments that excite and engage the interests and strengths of each individual child.

On the weekends I enjoy spending time alongside my family, indulging in pastries at the Manly farmers market with my daughter (Leni, 3) and son (Alfie, 1), pottering in the gardening or hitting the road exploring what south east Queensland has on offer.

Due to a work opportunity, my husband was offered in Brisbane, we moved here in 2018, relocating from the Waikato in New Zealand. My hometown is in the Barossa Valley, South Australia. I look forward to being a part of the Ashton Street community.
